Acer’s Gemstone Blue laptops- the 16-inch Aspire 6920 and 18.4-inch Aspire 8920 are now available in North America. The pricing is expected to be starting at $849 and $1,299, respectively. The laptops offer the latest dual-core processing capabilities which allow the users to multitask effortlessly.

The laptops are powered by Intel Centrino Duo processor technology specially designed for home users with full HD, 16:9 entertainment with centralized multimedia management. The gamer buffs can get superior display quality with high-resolution. In addition to this, the laptops include second generation Dolby Home Theater technology with powerful audio technologies - CineSurround, Tuba CineBass booster, and up to five integrated speakers for True5.1 sound output.

The 18.4-inch Aspire 8920 features:

The laptops also come with Launch Manager; Acer GameZone; Acer Video Conference Manager; Acer Video Conference Manager featuring Video Quality Enhancement (VQE); Adobe Reader; CyberLink PowerDirector trial version; Norton Internet Security; NTI Media Maker; Microsoft Works 9.0 with Office Home and Student 2007 Trial.

The video capabilities are backed up with decent sound. Each notebook has up to five integrated speakers for Dolby CineSurround. While the 6920 can be fitted with up to 320GB of storage, the 8920 can take two drives in its larger chassis, for a maximum of 640GB. The networking abilities include WiFi a/g/n, Bluetooth, gigabit Ethernet and a built-in webcam.
