Star Wars: TFU, The Force Unleashed is the latest release in the Star Wars Trilogy, a multiplatform game, which brings a weaving between the original story and the prequels of the game. Released on the 16th, 17th and 19th of September 08 in North America, Australia, Southeast Asia and Europe, Star Wars claims to enthrall the global gaming community with a raw force.
Developed and published by LucasArts, Star Wars: TFU is a part of LucasArts’ Force Unleashed Multimedia Project. Star Wars: TFU was a four years multistage development project that involved extensive collaboration between LucasArts and Industrial Light and Magic. Integrated with dedicated GRAPHICS Processing Engine and incorporated with intense graphical elements, Star Wars TFU has been developed for several contemporary gaming platforms and consoles. These include PlayStation II, PlayStation III, Nintendo Wii, Xbox 360, iPod Touch, iPhone, 2nd Generation N-Gage, Nintendo DS, PlayStation Portable, and Java enabled palmtops.
Game Play
The elements of Star Wars: TFU, as revealed in the game trilogy and prequels, revolve around the objective to eliminate the remaining Jedi from the galaxy. The game introduces a new character Star Killer, a protagonist and secret apprentice of Darth Vader, along with other major characters from the Star Wars trilogy and prequels.
Star Wars: TFU features three basic Combat Weapons namely, Light Saber, the Force, and Lighting Attack. These combat weapons can be combined to form hybrid weapons, which can slash enemies and can be used to lift bodies along with, forcing ones entry through doors and barriers. Â
Lighting Attack when combined with Light Saber forms a hybrid power that can electrocute enemy force. Light Saber impacts are slight and swift which, on combining with the Force or Lighting Attack, gain dramatic impact value.
Some other special abilities include Quick Dash and Blocking, which can respectively be used for attacking enemies from a distance and blocking enemy split attacks while bouncing them back. The game demo features a bonus mini game featuring a time bound mission, which finishes of with the destruction of the chief antagonist.
