Comments Xbox 360- Gaming Re-defined
![]() |
In 2003, Microsoft came up with the concept of a second video game console named Xbox 360. The concept was developed in co-operation with IBM, SiS and ATI. Xbox 360 is the successor to the Xbox that enables players to compete online as well as download content including arcade games, trailers, game demos, TV shows and even movies. The seventh generation video games console is a tough competition to Sony Play Station 3 and Nintendo’s Wii. Over 18 million units of Xbox 360 have been sold worldwide.
The three versions of Xbox 360 are the “Arcade” console, the “Premium” console and the “Elite” console.
The Xbox 360 Arcade has 256 MB memory unit, composite AV cable, HDMI 1.2 output and 5 Xbox Live Arcade titles.
The Xbox 360 Premium console includes all the features of the Arcade console in addition to a hybrid composite and component cable. The console comes with an optional optical cable. It includes a removable 20 GB Hard Disc Drive which stores the downloaded content and stores game data. The hard drive also includes game demos, video clips as well as a free Live Arcade game, Hexic HD.
The Xbox 360 Elite console, as the name suggests, is the most expensive of all the three consoles. The console comes with a 120GB hard drive, HDMI 1.2 cable and a controller and headset. The matte black finish of the console completes the elite look of the gadget.
All the three versions have their own set of accessories and high-tech features including wireless controller, re-chargeable battery case and flashy face plates. Each version includes hybrid, component and composite table and a detachable 20 GB hard disc drive with game demos, video clips and a free Live Arcade game. The games include Boom Boom Rocket, Feeding Frenzy, Luxor 2 and Pac-Man Championship Edition.
