Use the Kill-A-Watt to kill your electricity bill. This is an electronic gadget that monitors electricity usage. Just plug the Kill-A-Watt into the wall socket where you’re going to plug in your appliance. Then plug your appliance into the Kill-A-Watt. It begins automatically monitoring the electricity passing through it.
There are five buttons on the Kill-A-Watt. The first four are for the technically inclined and the last one is for the rest of us. The first four include: Volts, Amps, Watts & Vrms Arms and the last button has Hz & Power Factor (Watts/Vrms Arms). If you know what any of those first four mean then you’ll be glad their there. If you don’t, don’t worry the last button is just for you and me.
The last button gives two pieces of information, Time and KWH. The time is how long the appliance has been being monitored for and the KWH is how many Kilowatts an Hour (KWH) the appliance is using.

Light Emitting Diode (LED) technology has emerged as an efficient technology and a powerful alternative to traditional light sources. The energy efficiency, longevity, cost effectiveness; power and versatility are the advantages of LED light sources which make them a better choice as compared to the traditional light sources.
LED light bulbs generate only trace amounts of heat, whereas, the traditional incandescent bulbs use up to 90% of their energy. The heat-carrying photons do not produce much visible light in incandescent lights.
LED light bulbs are capable of producing more light per watt of energy as compared to incandescent light fixtures. The life of LED light bulbs is longer, which can burn up to 35,000 to 50,000 at full capacity before the need for replacement. On the other hand, incandescent light bulbs can burn only up to 1000 to 2000 hours.
LED technology can be effectively used for flashlights that needs frequent turn off and on. This is because flurorescent bulbs easily burn out when they are used as flashlights.
All these advantages of LED technology have resulted in the replacement of the traditional incandescent light sources by LED light sources.

When an LED light bulb was compared to a traditional incandescent bulb watt-for-watt, we came to know that LED light bulbs produce more light per watt that the traditional bulbs. There are many benefits to relate to LED. Here are a few.
• LED light bulbs light up quickly, within microseconds, and provide full brightness.
• The smaller size of LED light bulbs makes them perfect for a variety of applications.
• No use of mercury by LED bulbs.
• LED bulbs are designed for intense and bright light.
• Even when they are dim, LED bulbs maintain their color while the incandescent bulbs turn yellow when dim.
• No use of colored filters. This reduces the cost of LED light bulbs.
LED light bulb also finds in application in hunting, fishing, hiking and camping. Hunting enthusiasts can use it as flashlight and cave hikers can utilize it as headlamps. LED technology is also applied in flexlights for fishermen and lanterns for campers.

Lina Fischer has introduced a classy and glassy coffee maker called ‘Kahva’. So how is this coffee maker different from an espresso? Well, nothing new other than its uniqueness.
Wanna brew your own cuppa? Here’s what to do- fill the upper brewing unit of the coffee maker with water and add coffee. Boil the water with any heating device. Wait till the bubbling sound as hot water reaches the brewing unit and then switch off the heating device. The perfectly brewed coffee coming out of the glass container is drawn back quickly through a filter vacuum witch. Just turn the grip of Kahva and let the coffee flow into your cup.

When it comes to choosing a home water purifier system, you may get confused as there is a wide array of water purification systems available in the market. We are trying to summarize some of the important features of home water purification system.
The very important things to take into consideration while buying a water purifier are:
Home water purifiers come in a variety of styles and price range. The styles range from simple models which are reasonable to the complex Reverse Osmosis systems which can cost nothing less than hundreds of dollars.
We have come to know that cheaper water purifiers can cost more dollars per year for their maintenance as compared to the costlier models. Moreover, these cheap models don’t do a commendable job. They just do nothing other than improving the taste of water. They may not filter the bad things in water as is supposed to be removed by a home water purifier. Hence, we suggest you to spend some more money and buy the better quality which is, of course, expensive.
The quality of water purifier system has lot to do with how often the filters have to be replaced and the cost of the filters themselves. It is therefore recommended to buy a system that is worthwhile your money.
The Reverse Osmosis systems are considered to stand upto the saying! These home purifier systems filter the “bad stuff” including chemicals such as lead, chlorine etc. from the water. In addition to this, these systems keep the essential minerals such as calcium, magnesium and potassium intact in the water.
Hence, Reverse Osmosis systems, though expensive, are considered to be one of the best purifying systems as they ensure the best quality of drinking water.
