Lost data on stolen and missing laptops is a matter of great concern for laptop users for a long time. Now, Intel has taken a big step to make it a hard nut to crack for the naughty data thefts with its announcement of new Anti-Theft Technology for laptops.
The Anti Theft Technology locks a laptop down at the component level. This hardware solution was launched last Wednesday by the Intel executives at its Intel Developer Forum in Shanghai. “In the event of theft, the technology will basically lock the system, lock the disk, so people cannot be maliciously using and getting the data,” said Dadi Perlmutter, executive vice president and general manager of Intel’s Mobility Group, according to a transcript of his presentation at the Intel Developer Forum (IDF) in Shanghai.
According to Perlmutter, the technology, which appears to render both the processor and storage inaccessible, aims to ease concerns over valuable corporate or personal data falling into the wrong hands when laptops are lost or stolen.
This technology involves the installation of an extra chip into your laptop. This chip stops the hard drive being accessed without the user’s permission. The whole method is executed by introducing an additional identity check during the OS boot up. This will likely take the form of a password.
The new facility will be added to Intel’s Active Management Technology, which is part of Centrino vPro and allows IT managers to remotely access and configure computers.

This is about an upcoming technology which lets you access mobile phone from any desktop or laptop pc connected to internet. But how? Read on for details.
The Android mobile phone platform is planning to get an application in the form of web server software. And this server is capable of hosting a site that could be accessed anywhere from the world. So how can you create a website in your cell phone?
The i-jetty technology allows us to create AJAX and comet enabled websites on an Android mobile phone. This could enable your mobile phone to be a portable pocket sized weblog capturing all the events of your day and publishing them from your phone to the world. Yet the early usage of i-jetty software may be confined to accessing your calendar, phone book and making calls via your mobile phone from your PC.
The web server software is light weight. It can efficiently serve dynamic content when sat behind a dedicated HTTP server. This would make it take up any huge traffic. Right now it can handle only a few users at a time.
