Dell does it again! Dell launches its latest venture, barely after introducing its new Studio laptops; by launching an ultra-mobile, 9-in laptop. The Mini 9 weighs just over 1 kilo and is powered by Intel’s new Atom processor. In the words of the company’s publicity, Dell’s Inspiron Mini 9 is designed to connect “teens, tweens, travellers and social networkers” to the online world. It comes with built in WiFi capabilities and also has a 1.3 megapixel webcam and video chat software. The Dell Inspiron Mini 9 loads Windows in about 30 seconds and fires up Microsoft Works in 8 seconds. Also, it can copy more than an album’s worth of music (77MB) in about 7 seconds. The Mini 9 is on a par with its peers: It has three USB ports, a 4-in-1 media card reader (SD, MS, MS Pro, MMC), VGA-out, an Ethernet port.
