Washing machines are no more gadgets of luxury. Most of the households and businesses consider washing machines as an every day appliance. The biggest and the hardest thing that a person faces while using washing machine moving it around.  The washing machine can be a very stubborn piece of equipment to budge. Let us now take a look at the easiest process of getting a washing machine transported from one place to another.

The first thing to be done for placing a washing machine is to make sure that you unplug the washing machine from the mains electricity. It is done to make sure that you do not have any electric running through the system. Now proceed to disconnect the hoses. After completing this, dry them off and place them into a plastic bag. Once it is done, slide them into the drum of the machine carefully so that they are not missed.

Before moving the machine, just empty out the water as there is always at least a litre of water left in the machine at any one time. To do it, just tilt the machine forwards, or if it is a more modern form of machine then have a plug and pull feature.

If a vehicle is used to transport the item then you should carefully place down some towels to prevent the fabrics from spoiling, in case of any leakage.  The best way to carry and place a machine in the car is to keep it in an upright position. If the machine does not fit into the vehicle in this way, then place it on its back. But be very careful as the water may leak onto electrical parts, potentially causing a lot of damage.

Sometimes unpleasant musty smell comes out from washing machines. This may be due to clogging of laundry detergents and fabric softener inside the washer. The chemicals starts to build up in those dark small openings, letting the fungus breed over time, causing nauseating stenches that smells like mildew.

Everyone wants to remove the stinking smell from the washing machine. But the problem is that, many among us, do not know hoe to remove that. Here, we are giving some handy tips to remove those smells without paying an arm or leg for it.

1. Put white vinegar
Vinegar is an inexpensive method that could be used to clean the washing machine.  Put a cup of white vinegar into the washer. Do this for twice a week.

2. Use bleach
By putting bleach, you can keep the washer smell-free. Add some detergents with a cupful of bleach. Use medium to hot water to wash the detergent down the washing machine.

3. Leave washing cover open
If you are using a top loader or the front loading washing machine, take care not to  close the cover immediately when the washing completes. Always keep them open when not in use. Let any water within them dries off.

4. Use cleanser
Try Lysol cleanser, oxi-clean or smelly washer cleaner to make it smell-free. The cleaners are designed to remove odours effectively. It contains chemicals that are powerful enough to get rid of any unwanted fungus growing inside the washer. 

5. Borax
Add some borax to the laundry detergent, which will act as a fungicide to remove the mildew odour. The washing machine cover and tray should be remained open after the wash to allow the moisture to dissipate.

6. Soda crystals
 Sodium carbonate decahydrate is an effective degreaser, which is also a removal agent for cleaning the washing machine. Dissolve a small cup of soda crystals in hot water and pour it with a long wash into the washer machine, which will make it smell- free.
