The tablet touts both Bluetooth and the standard two USB ports should you want to use it with a full-size keyboard and mouse. It comes pre-loaded with Apple’s Leopard including the Operating System’s built-in Inkwell handwriting recognition software. A GPS unit is also crammed into the Modbook which, well, lets you geo-locate to your heart’s content.
Modbook is essentially a niche device and is impressively versatile. The only quibble is its small screen and lack of graphical vitality.

The iPod Touch from Apple is a revolutionary addition to the iPod range. The Touch is more than a video and music player.
The iPod has a multi-touch interface, which enables you to put all your music files and videos at your fingertips! The iPod touch is also equipped with an accelerometer, which recognizes the position of the player. When the iPod is in music mode, the Cover Flow function automatically displays album covers so you can flip through your music library quickly and easily. The iPod touch offers up to 22 hours of audio playback and up to 5 hours’ playback in video mode. The device is also carrying a lot of Apple’s hopes, apparently.
The Touch is Apple’s answer to the Ultra Mobile PCs.

Apple has at last dropped what it calls Apple TV Take 2, or else know as their second endeavor at collaring the streamer market. The new version ties in with iTunes Movie Rentals. Therefore, you can go and pick and choose. If you have got one of Cupertino’s silver boxes under your television, you can get the free update right now, downloading it via your gogglebox. Think of the possibilities and the large number of movies you can get your hands on now.
The system’s been given a complete makeover, with a whole new interface, full YouTube access and the chance to look at all the videos that you have stashed on your Mac, as well as rental goodies. The box still costs £199 for the 40GB version, £269 for the weightier 160GB model.
Now all we need is Apple to give us a launch date for rental movies. Come on guys, we are desperate.

The Apple iPod is not so much an upgrade as a total revamp of the iPod, the Touch 16GB is basically Apple’s iPhone without the disappointing aspects of that device - such as the recessed earphone socket, the paltry storage, the crappy camera and, err, phone bit. It’s also thinner - about a third as thick as the iPhone.
Everything we love about the iPhone is still here. The huge screen sports a multi-touch interface that’s smoother than a hot knife through butter. It lets you flick through tracks, gawp at video and pinch-zoom photos, with no practice or manual consultation. Put next to an iPhone, the screen’s got a tad more detail and better contrast, too.
The Touch’s built-in Wi-Fi puts the iTunes Store in your pocket. Now, you can buy tracks that take your fancy on the move, then have them injected into your player once you’ve docked it back home. The Safari web browser also lets you view websites from Wi-Fi hotspots.
Apple’s earphones remain iconic but not so well fitting. So bin them, safe in the knowledge that your replacements will fit into the earphone socket. Once that’s done, sound quality is on a par with any other iPod.
If you’re after a mid-capacity MP3 player, but don’t fancy such anything overly fancy upgrade, the Touch is an attractive prospect. Be warned, though: once you’re used to Apple’s multi-touch interface, you’ll be spoiled for life. Nothing else is ever going to seem quite as alluring or ingenious.
