Toronto: Here is a god news for mobile phone lovers. The Canadian wireless giant Research In Motion (RIM) has unveiled its new BlackBerry Pearl Flip 8220 smartphone here on Wednesday. This is the first device in the popular flip version.
This model weighing just a 3.6 ounce is much a lighter version making it too easy and comfortable to carry in pocket. The quad-band EDGE-based BlackBerry Pearl Flip smartphone packs an impressive range of features into its compact design, including phone, email, messaging, organiser, browser and multimedia applications.
RIM in the statement while launching says: ‘You can send a message to your friends or family, make a call, browse the web, snap a picture, watch a video or listen to your favourite song. It’s all in your control with a simple flip.’ Yes, it is true, says the model.
The new Pearl Flip 8220 features a two megapixel camera with flash, zoom and video recording that will help in capturing memories while on the move. The handset also carries BlackBerry Maps to deliver maps and step-by-step driving directions quickly and easily.
Pearl Flip 8220 has a browser that supports Real Time Streaming Protocol (RTSP) which is helpful in watching online streaming video on sites like youtube.com.
The smartphone present in the handset delivers exceptional voice quality and includes many premium phone features, including speaker independent voice recognition (SIVR) for voice activated dialling (VAD), support for mp3 ring tones, smart dialling, conference calling, speed dialling, call forwarding, voicemail attachment playback and enhanced background noise cancellation.
It also has a speakerphone and Bluetooth for use with hand-free headsets, stereo headsets, car kits and other Bluetooth peripherals such as a GPS receiver. Have you really stunned after reading these features? Hey, then hear this also.
The removable/rechargeable 900 mAhr battery provides four hours of talk time and over 14 days of standby time.

‘The popularity of BlackBerry smartphones has shoot up around the globe and the introduction of this exciting new flip phone will take the demand to new heights. But RIM has not disclosed the price factor. The new model is expected to be available around the world in the autumn.

In 2003, Microsoft came up with the concept of a second video game console named Xbox 360. The concept was developed in co-operation with IBM, SiS and ATI. Xbox 360 is the successor to the Xbox that enables players to compete online as well as download content including arcade games, trailers, game demos, TV shows and even movies. The seventh generation video games console is a tough competition to Sony Play Station 3 and Nintendo’s Wii. Over 18 million units of Xbox 360 have been sold worldwide.
The three versions of Xbox 360 are the “Arcade” console, the “Premium” console and the “Elite” console.
The Xbox 360 Arcade has 256 MB memory unit, composite AV cable, HDMI 1.2 output and 5 Xbox Live Arcade titles.
The Xbox 360 Premium console includes all the features of the Arcade console in addition to a hybrid composite and component cable. The console comes with an optional optical cable. It includes a removable 20 GB Hard Disc Drive which stores the downloaded content and stores game data. The hard drive also includes game demos, video clips as well as a free Live Arcade game, Hexic HD.
The Xbox 360 Elite console, as the name suggests, is the most expensive of all the three consoles. The console comes with a 120GB hard drive, HDMI 1.2 cable and a controller and headset. The matte black finish of the console completes the elite look of the gadget.
All the three versions have their own set of accessories and high-tech features including wireless controller, re-chargeable battery case and flashy face plates. Each version includes hybrid, component and composite table and a detachable 20 GB hard disc drive with game demos, video clips and a free Live Arcade game. The games include Boom Boom Rocket, Feeding Frenzy, Luxor 2 and Pac-Man Championship Edition.
