Treat yourself this summer with Mitsubishi bonanza!
![]() |
Mitsubishi has finally set on board the final launch of its LaserVue sets this summer. Yes, these will be the world’s first production laser-based HD TVs and will be available to us this summer in two types - the 65-inch and the 73-inch screen sizes. So what’s new in it for us? We,, these machines will employ laser light in place of normal lamps, with screens much more accurate, generating atleast 200 percent of the normal NTSC color gamut. Yes, this is going to be an absolute treat for all of us who delve in the magic world of gadgetry and gizmos. These machines will consume much less power than the other normal sets.
As if this was not enough, this HD TV also carries with it the following essentials:
The 200 watts used by a LaserVue is said to be half that of a same-size LCD and a third that of an equivalent plasma set.
Both screens produce about 500 nits of brightness and take advantage of their greater color depth with support for x.v.Color (greater than 24-bit color). This happens with the help of their HDMI 1.3 ports and a 120Hz panel that can compensate for motion artifacts.
Either LaserVue is 10 inches deep and just shallow enough to allow for wall mounting.
And no! The summer is still not done without yet another windfall, launched by Mitsubishi.
It has brought for you a completely different approach to its category of LCD line through the launch of its 149 series TVs. These versions - the 46-inch LT46149 and 52-inch LT-52149, both are likely to replace the simple stereo speakers of many other HDTVs with a 16-point audio system, much like speaker bars. The USP of these machines will be that they are found to generate a 5.1-channel surround effect without occupying any physical space, whatsoever. Called the integrated Sound Projector, the system lets users optimize the sound field for a certain room size and sweet spot to receive a more convincingly generated audio effect.
So we see that the Mitsubishi has finally put its foot down in bringing out a revolution in the arena of HD TV’s with any ado. By employing technology par excellence and integrating essentials that most of us have long being dreaming about, these machines are surely set in to win our hearts.
